Puka Nacua Is Out: Make the Monday Pivot
Nacua is inactive after testing the injury before kickoff. Remove him from every lineup; Davante Adams leads the redistributed target tree, and managers who waited must use a Monday-night pivot now.

What changed
Puka Nacua is inactive Monday night against the Giants after missing Friday and Saturday practice and failing to gain clearance through his pregame workout.
Final call: The probability-weighted contingency is now a confirmed zero. Nacua moves from Week 2 WR59/Flex147 to out, while Davante Adams remains the lead target-concentration beneficiary at WR18/Flex46.
The Rams opportunity tree
| Player | Current read | Fantasy action |
|---|---|---|
| Puka Nacua | Inactive | Sit; remove him from every Week 2 lineup |
| Davante Adams | Primary target concentration with Nacua out | Start at WR18/Flex46 |
| Rams wideouts | Share approximately 25% of the vacated targets and added routes | Deep-league only; role certainty remains low |
| Terrance Ferguson and the tight ends | Share approximately 25% of the vacated targets, especially inside | Ferguson is the preferred emergency pivot |
| Kyren Williams and the backs | Share approximately 15% through checkdowns and screens | Williams retains a strong start; no new automatic flex |
Adams gets the first bump because the Rams already trust his full-time role. The working allocation gives him roughly 35% of Nacua’s vacated targets, the other wideouts 25%, Ferguson and the tight ends 25%, and the backs 15%. Routes can consolidate more heavily than targets, but the secondary pieces remain fragile.
The exact ACE moves
| Player | Previous | New | Direction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Puka Nacua | Sunday 2:22 edition: WR59 · Flex147 | OUT | Removed from the Week 2 board |
| Davante Adams | Sunday 11:18 edition: WR23 · Flex52 | WR18 · Flex46 | Up 5 at WR; up 6 at Flex |
| Puka Nacua | ROS WR1 · overall 4 | Unchanged | No evidence of a multi-week absence |
| Davante Adams | ROS WR26 · overall 72 | Unchanged | One uncertain game does not prove a lasting role change |
Nacua’s Week 2 projection falls from the risk-weighted 6.8 points to zero. Adams holds at 13.0 and WR18 because the prior edition already made Nacua’s absence the more likely branch. Matthew Stafford stays QB15; Adams and the Rams’ tight ends preserve usability, but Nacua’s absence trims the ceiling. ROS rankings remain unchanged until the injury produces evidence beyond Week 2.
The Monday pivot hierarchy
The Sunday slate is locked. Managers who waited now need the best eligible Monday option already rostered or still available in their league.
| Order | Pivot | Why | Action |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Terrance Ferguson | Best blend of likely availability, projected role and access to the Rams’ vacated short-area targets if Nacua sits | Preferred waiver pivot; Week 2 TE17 · Flex117 |
| 2 | Devin Singletary | Cam Skattebo remains the lead runner, but Week 1 usage elevated Singletary after Tyrone Tracy’s fumble and benching | FFB’s preferred Giants contingency and the steadier touch-floor option |
| 3 | Malachi Fields | Volatile receiver route, but he remains an active Monday option with splash-play upside | Upside contingency; Week 2 WR58 · Flex146 |
| 4 | Jalen Mumpfield / Colby Parkinson | Lower-confidence access to Monday routes and targets | Deep-league emergency options |
| Conditional | Available Rams depth receivers | Routes can expand without producing dependable targets | Use only when the active list and your format leave no safer choice |
Do not use Tyrone Tracy as the default Giants pivot. The current usage evidence makes Singletary the better contingency behind Skattebo. That is an FFB projection—not a team-issued RB2 designation; the Giants’ official depth chart groups Tracy, Najee Harris and Singletary on the same reserve line. Rachaad White was a Sunday fallback rather than a Monday pivot; before his game locked, his reduced role placed him behind Ferguson, Singletary and Fields. He cannot rescue a lineup after Sunday lock.
What to do now
He is inactive. Do not leave him in a receiver or flex slot.
Ferguson is the preferred likely-available option, followed by Singletary and Fields.
Adams is the clean start. The Rams can spread the remaining work across receivers, tight ends and backs.
His target floor improves in every scenario except a completely normal Nacua workload—and even that leaves Adams playable.
Confidence and the revision trigger
Confidence is high in the Week 2 inactive designation and moderate in the exact secondary target split. Week 3 practice participation and any diagnosis or timetable will determine whether Nacua’s ROS WR1/overall 4 ranking changes. A full Wednesday practice would support holding the ROS baseline; repeated absences or a multi-week diagnosis would force a projection and rank reduction.
