Browns 27, Steelers 24
The usage chart says more than the scoreboard: hold Judkins and Warren, watch Cleveland's receiver shift, and don't buy a one-snap touchdown.

Cleveland won a late one, and the usage chart supplied more than a box-score sugar rush. Quinshon Judkins gained ground in Cleveland's backfield; KC Concepcion Jr. and Denzel Boston occupied the Browns' primary receiver roles; Jaylen Warren practically owned Pittsburgh's backfield while Rico Dowdle sat. Those are actionable observations, not a license to print fresh forecasts.
Judkins gained ground, not every job
Judkins played 43 of Cleveland's 65 PFF-charted offensive snaps, up from the 60.3% share PFF reports across Weeks 1–3. He had 17 carries for 53 yards and a touchdown, plus six catches on seven targets for 43 yards. Raheim Sanders played 22 snaps and ran 13 routes to Judkins' 17, so this was greater early-down, short-yardage and goal-line involvement—not an every-situation takeover.
Jaleel McLaughlin scored on a 28-yard run, his lone snap and carry. The move is to hold Judkins and not chase McLaughlin's score. One spectacular touch is an excellent highlight, but it is not a workload.
Warren carried Pittsburgh's backfield
Warren played 69 of Pittsburgh's 71 PFF-charted snaps and ran 39 routes. Travis Homer played two snaps; Dowdle was officially inactive for the second straight week with a toe injury. Warren's 17 carries for 93 yards and three catches for 33 yards on six targets reinforce his hold case.
Hold Warren while Dowdle is out. How much of Thursday's role survives Dowdle's return remains open, so Friday's status and the next game's rotation—not this one-night share alone—control any stronger future claim.
Cleveland's receiver rotation is the lead
Concepcion played 60 snaps and ran 37 routes, Boston 62 and 37, while Jerry Jeudy played 24 and ran 19. Their official targets were eight, seven and three. Boston's 89 receiving yards included a 60-yard catch, making route participation the sturdier signal than yardage alone. Monitor Concepcion and Boston as Cleveland's primary receiver pair; bench and watch Jeudy for upcoming matchups until his playing time rebounds.
In Pittsburgh, Germie Bernard played 28 snaps and ran 20 routes against Michael Pittman Jr.'s 51 and 32. PFF observed Bernard taking more 11-personnel work from Pittman. That is a role warning, not proof of a permanent handoff. DK Metcalf's nine targets and 115 yards remain a strong game-level signal.
Injury flags and other caution signs
Roman Wilson was flagged injured late but returned for Pittsburgh's final possession. His prognosis is unknown. Tyson Campbell also returned. Mason Graham left with a knee injury and was ruled out for the game—defensive context only, with no offensive fantasy adjustment assigned here.
Wilson's six targets, 74 yards and touchdown keep him on the watchlist, but his limited 22 charted snaps and late injury flag argue against treating the score as a settled role. Harold Fannin Jr. caught three passes for 27 yards and a touchdown; that result is not a new projected role by itself.
Postgame action board
| Player | Action | Thursday evidence | Next checkpoint |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quinshon Judkins; Jaleel McLaughlin | Hold Judkins; do not chase McLaughlin's one-snap touchdown | Judkins' broader high-value rushing work is real Thursday evidence; McLaughlin had one snap and carry. | Review next-game snaps, routes and coach comments. |
| Jaylen Warren | Hold while Rico Dowdle is out; reassess if he returns | Warren played 69 of Pittsburgh's 71 PFF-charted snaps, with Dowdle inactive. | Check Dowdle's toe status and backfield plans. |
| KC Concepcion Jr.; Denzel Boston | Monitor the primary Cleveland receiver pair | Both ran 37 routes. One game does not certify a new rank. | Verify routes, personnel usage and coach comments. |
| Jerry Jeudy | Bench and watch for upcoming matchups | He played 24 snaps and ran 19 routes in PFF's preliminary charting. | Check whether his personnel-package work returns. |
| Michael Pittman Jr.; Germie Bernard; Roman Wilson | Hold Pittman for a usage check; watch Bernard and Wilson | The Pittsburgh rotation shifted; Wilson's late injury flag has no verified prognosis. | Check receiver rotation and Wilson's team update. |
What Friday can still change
These are qualitative holds and watchlist changes, not certified model moves. Next check whether Judkins' high-value work sticks, what Warren retains if Dowdle returns, and whether the receiver rotations persist. PFF's preliminary snap counts include penalty-nullified plays while its routes exclude them, so do not force those denominators to match official offensive-play counts. The gamebook attributes 39 Pittsburgh targets against Aaron Rodgers' 40 attempts; Cleveland's 33 targets match Deshaun Watson's 33 attempts.
